Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) is the official professional organization for library and information professionals
in the U.S. of Chinese descent. It was formed ca. 1976 with members interested in "promoting better communication among Chinese
American librarians, serving as a forum to discuss professional concerns, and promoting the development of Chinese and American
librarianship". It consists of the California, Greater Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Northeast, and Southwest chapters.
