Charles Campbell Derby was superintendent of mines in Nevada City, Calif., 1911-1913. Previously he had been superintendent
at the Almaden Mines in Virginia City, Nevada. He owned a fruit ranch in San Jose from 1923 to 1941, and died in 1942 or 1943.
His wife was Mary Derby, and he had three children, Maraquita, Tom, and Eleanor.
