Include letters to William F. Curtis from his parents, Anna Maria and John W. Curtis, and his brothers, Edwin and Alfred, mainly describing life in Australia and the gold mining there; a journal, May-Sept. 1864, kept by W. F. Curtis, recording his voyage from Australia to San Francisco on the barrque Uruguay; a Curtis family genealogy and history, ca. 1943, photographs inserted, with information on activities of the family in Australia and America through World Wars I and II, and with transcripts of letters by H. H. Curtis from Colorado and W. F. Curtis from San Francisco in the 1860s. With these: copies of documents containing biographical information on Captain James H. Blethen and record of ships on which he served, 1829-1873.
