Abstract:

Primarily papers of Hiram Bingham I, pioneer Congregational missionary to the Sandwich Islands; his wife, Sybil; his son, Hiram Bingham II, missionary to Micronesia, and his wife, Clarissa. Include letters, diaries and journals, account books, reports, pamphlets, etc., relating to their missionary activities and description of life in the islands. Included also are Mss. relating to the translating work done by Hiram Bingham II in the Gilbertese language.
