Abstract:
Takayanagi was interned at Heart Mountain Relocation Center in northwestern Wyoming near the cities of Cody and Powell. It was one of ten United States government camps used to house Japanese Americans during World War II under the administration of the War Relocation Authority (WRA). It opened in August 1942 and closed in November 1945, holding more than 10,000 internees at its peak. Collection consists of paintings, memorabilia, and ephemera related to Heart Mountain Relocation Camp during the 1940s. Some of the collection is in Japanese.
