The Hill Street Blues was an American police procedural television series that chronicled the lives of the Metropolitan Police Department staff of a police station in an unspecified large U.S. city. The station was located on "Hill Street" and the "blues" referred to the police officers in their blue uniforms. Differing from other cop dramas by emphasizing the characters rather than the cases, the series received critical acclaim and won eight Emmys and one Peabody in 1981. The show also won a Director's Guild award in 1982 for the episode "Personal Foul," on which Cal Naylor worked as the Unit Production Manager.
Heartbreaker is an American romantic drama film released in 1983. The movie, originally titled "Beto," is set in East Los Angeles and follows low-rider gangs and the budding romance between Beto (Fernando Allende) and Kim (Dawn Dunlap). Naylor is credited as the line (associate) producer for the film.
