Background
Paul De Longpre was born in 1855 in Lyons, France and died in 1911. He was a self taught painter who moved to New York in
1880 and then to California in 1899. The home he built in Hollywood, California became to be celebrated for its magnificent
flower gardens. Among his most famous paintings are "Double Peach Blossoms" and "White Fringed Poppies" (1902).
