Description
This collection contains photocopied photographs, a transcribed newspaper clipping and a photocopied letter with a donor made transcription from Staff Sergeant Warren Lester Brandt of the United States Air Force during the Second World War.
Background
Warren Lester Brandt was born June 11, 1923 to Albert and Anna Schultz in Winburne, Pennsylvania. He had six siblings, Dorothy Berry, Delores Jenney, Donald Goss, David Brandt, Bernard Brandt, and George Goss. Brandt served in the U.S. Air force as a b-24 bomber gunner. His plane was shot down during combat resulting in a lifetime disability. He was discharged July 20, 1945. Brandt died April 17, 2002 at the age of 78 and was buried at Forest Baptist Cemetery and was buried with military honors.
