Description
This collection was created during the semester of spring 2017, through the Cal State LA Special Collections & Archives internship of Gladys Garcia. The collection was created based on publications and materials related to Central American Solidarity Networks in Los Angeles from the late-1970s to mid-1990s. The collection is based on material housed in the Latin American Studies Center of Cal State LA. The materials were acquired by a number of different faculty members and students in the Latin American Studies program over the course of three decades. The historical significance of this collection is that it documents a specific part of Los Angeles history, relating to Central Americans and how their experiences shaped Los Angeles as we see it now. The collection also highlights the role the city of Los Angeles played amongst nationwide activism at the height of all the Central American conflicts.
