Description
Collection includes a yearbook, clippings, two booklets on master planning criteria and on a study of site selection factors related to California State College at Palos Verdes.
Background
California State College at Palos Verdes, also known as South Bay State College, was a four-year institution established by legislative action presented by State Assemblyman Charles Edward Chapel and State Senator Richard Richards in 1960. Leo F. Cain, former Vice-President of San Francisco State College and a national figure in American education, served as the first president of the college in 1962.
